Applying for Canadian jobs from abroad
Learn where international candidates can search for Canadian jobs and how to check work permit and licensing requirements.
Use the right job search
Start with the Government of Canada Job Bank section for foreign candidates. An ordinary Canadian job listing does not necessarily accept applications from overseas.
Understand work authorization
Check official Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada guidance. Employers may require existing Canadian work authorization; a job advertisement is not a work permit.
Check professional licensing
Healthcare, trades and other regulated professions may require provincial recognition or licensing. Verify the regulator before spending money on training.
Prepare an accurate application
Use a resume that reflects your actual experience, disclose your location truthfully and never claim sponsorship or authorization you do not have.
