Welcome to Shop VeeLegacy
Hi, I’m Valerie. I landed a six-figure tech role in Canada without a Canadian degree or previous Canadian work experience.
Today, I’m a DevOps engineer and licensed financial professional. I share the practical tools, examples and guidance I wish were easier to find when navigating careers, money and new opportunities.

A little about the person behind the guides
I know what it means to bring your experience into a new country and figure out how to make it count.
My education and professional background were built outside Canada. I went on to secure a six-figure Canadian tech role without a Canadian degree or previous Canadian work experience. That journey taught me the value of researching opportunities, preparing well and knowing where to look.
I’m also a licensed financial professional. I care deeply about helping people understand how money works in Canada, from budgeting and preparing for homeownership to family savings and long-term planning.
That’s why I created VeeLegacy: a place for practical ebooks, links, templates and honest guidance. Whether you’re searching for your next Canadian job, settling here, exploring an income idea or working toward a financial goal, I want you to have useful resources and steps you can actually take.
My career is my personal experience, not a guarantee of employment or income. All guides are educational; individual advice depends on your situation.

Buying a home is more than saving a down payment. Learn how eligible FHSA contributions can reduce taxable income, how RRSP savings and the Home Buyers’ Plan may help with qualifying home purchases, and how the FHSA and HBP can work together when you meet the rules.
Important: The FHSA and eligible RRSP contributions may provide tax deductions, depending on your circumstances. An HBP withdrawal is not an extra deduction or a guaranteed refund. Your tax outcome depends on your income, available room, timing and eligibility. RESP is an education savings plan, not the home-buying program.
Canadian job opportunities · Two ways to search
Already in Canada or applying from another country? This is one toolkit for both. Start with general and industry-specific Canadian job boards. Compare openings, tailor your resume, track applications and prepare for interviews.
Explore Canada's Job Bank ↗Find Canadian job postings open to international candidates. Check the “Who can apply?” section, employer requirements and potential work-permit process.
